Summary

Maintains resort lawn and grounds by performing the following duties

Responsibilities

• Provides excellent guest service.
• Cuts lawns, trims and edges around walks, flower beds and walls.
• Prunes shrubs and trees to share and improve growth or remove damaged leaves, branches or twigs.
• Sprays lawn, shrubs and trees with fertilizer, herbicides and insecticides.
• Is self-motivated and works well independently.
• Cleans grounds and removes litter.
• Shovels snow from walks and driveways.
• Plants grass, flowers, trees and shrubs as directed by the general manager.
• Waters lawn and shrubs.
• Repairs fences, gates, walls and walks.
• Sharpens tools such as weed cutters, edging tools and shears.
• Makes minor repairs on equipment such as lawn mower, spreader and snow- removal equipment.
• May be assigned other duties, sometimes in other departments, as the need arises to support fellow staff members in achieving the company mission.

Education/Experience Preferred

* Prior experience and/or training are desirable but not required.

Reasoning Ability

• Ability to apply common sense and understanding to carry out simple instructions.
• Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.
